This guy was driving a motorcycle, the truck driver heard the thud, it took him 1/4 mile to stop and pull over. When he walked to the back of the truck this is what he saw.

Epiphany!

Today, I realized my daughter is an English savant. Every sentence that pours forth from her mouth must include a simile or a metaphor!

My Career!

This is where I work now! This is where I work part- time now, and full time for two years! I only made it one year hear, the busiest fire department in Georgia! I worked in this unpleasant place for 6 1/2 years. I could not wait to leave! Here’s where all my public service started! I discovered I want out and that is why I am back in college. I have worked for the busiest fire department (at one of the busiest stations), I have worked for the busiest EMS service, and now I work for the nation’s busiest children’s transport service. If you only knew what I have seen!

A conversation!

So, the other day a father was talking to his daughter about life. He asked her, “what do you want to do after high school?”

She replied, “I want to go to college so I can get a good job.”

“Sounds great,” the father replied. “What is a good job?” 

“I don’t know,” she answered with a straight face.

 Meanwhile, the father’s head slumped as he shook it slightly in disbelief. He mustered up some courage and asked yet another question, ” Well you already have a job, so is that the good job you are looking for in the future?”

Again she replied, “I don’t know.”

With a final thought in desperation he asked her, “Well if you don’t know where you are going, then how do you know if you are not already there?”

She just stood there silently glaring at him with eyes made of stone. I do not think she ever figured out an answer.

A new day!

Today, I went to class! Boring!

1. English 4560- Blues Class. (I fell asleep, he turned the lights off.)
2. English 3391- Teaching Literature to adolescents. (We have been discussing the chick book we have been reading, The Poisonwood Bible.) No Comment!
3. AMST 3700- American Studies. We talked about Rosanne Barr and her political views. (Yawn!)

The News!

I am not one much for the news; however, this is just too good not to share. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution had an article in Friday’s paper. It was about the phone service cutting off the FBI’s wire-taps. They haven’t been paying their bills, and they owe the phone company $66,000. How’s that for justice?

I sailed with the Captain when the Captain wasn’t cool!

I have a headache!

This guy had a close encounter with a nail gun. The only physical damage we could see was a small hole in the roof of his mouth. He kept trying to pick at it with his finger. I kept telling him to stop. Neither of us realized he had a nail sitting in his sinus cavity extending up between the two hemispheres of his brain. Unbelievably, he was OK with no permanent damage.
